Entry into Red Bull Manny Mania is restricted to:- Anyone age 14 (as of August 21, 2011) or older who is a resident of the country in which the qualifying events are being held.

HOW YOU'LL GET JUDGED:
South African judges Puddy Zwenis, Adrian Day and Brendan Body, editor of Session skateboarding magazine, will rate each skater on a score from 1-100, based on their overall impression of landed manual tricks. The top four scores will compete in a final 10-minute heat to choose the top-three.

The format for each event* will be an open jam session (six-minute heats with a maximum of four skaters on the course at the same time). The start list will be created in random order and overseen by the National Skateboarding Association of South Africa.

A minimum of three skaters will be selected from each qualifying city to attend the finals in Johannesburg on June 26.

*same goes for SA final and NYC world final.

Dutch Football Club Signs Toddler

When Baerke van der Meij, one and a half, drove three balls into the box one after another, his father Jorg posted the video on YouTube.
VVV, the club in the south-eastern town of Venlo where the family live, invited Baerke for a "trial".
They were doubly impressed by the fact his grandfather had played for VVV.
"Baerke did his best to amaze professional footballer Ken Leemans with his football techniques," the club said.
"One can speak of a right-footed player with a very good kick technique, perseverance and, importantly, football genes of grandfather Jan van der Meij."
Importantly, too, the little Dutchman can shout "bal" (English: ball).
The signing of the contract, with a little help from Jorg, was toasted with a glass of orange juice

FUZIGISH Album Launch Party 13th May 2011

Formed in South Africa 1997 Fuzigish has graced our ska/punk scene with an everlasting presence, their live performance is a must see for any music lover, I have followed Fuzigish since i was 15 years old and their live shows are still exciting and and so powerful. As far back as i can remember Fuzigish have been playing at most of the major music festivals and this goes back to woodstock2 in heidelberg.
They also supported the violent femmes in 2006, Fuzigish invited Lagwagon to play in South Africa. The success of the tour ensured that Fatwreck band The Mad Caddies came to SA in May 2007 to join Fuzigish on stage in Dbn, Jhb and CT.
Yet again the tour was a great success and now the Punk Scene of SA eagerly awaited the arrival of NOFX in November 2007!

13th of may 2011

So we all know that cell c took a dig at vodacoms new turning red campaign, they are even in a bit of hot water on the legal side of things for airin this ad against vodacom.

Now from the people who i thought would have jumped on the bandwagon as soon as the cellc vodacom ad was aired, Nandos has taken a brilliant stab at MTN a service provider who hasnt been involved in the cellc/vodacom drama

What exactly has NANDOS done here?

MTN advertising is indeed yellow, but the sneaking reference to them being chicken is yet another example of Nando’s thinking out the box.

The text at the bottom of the ad reads - "now that we know the colour of every cellular network out there,can we move on already? we have better things to do with our mouths"

So by now we all know that vodacom has changed its colours and have undergone a slight face lift, they have turned red. I really dont see how turning red is going to change the useless service they give there customers but hey, thats why we let brands like cell c have a go at them and provide us with some sort of entertainment. There are also some other leading brands like Virgin that have used this "change" to their advertising advantage.
Now vodacom is filing a complaint with the avertising standards authority, shame vodacom i bet you wish you had a marketing and advertising department like nandos and cell c, the best your team came up with was a dancing meerkat!

RAMfest Johannesburg 12th March 2011

RAMFest, Johannesburg

It’s the 2nd year in a row that RAMFest will have a Johannesburg leg. RAMFest, Johannesburg will be held at Riversands Farm, Fourways on the 12th of March 2010. There will be 2 stages at the event and Not My Dog, Die Antwoord, Zebra & Giraffe, Van Coke Kartel, Pestroy, Dance Your’re on Fire, Isochronous, Knave, Pity The Fool, BLK JKS, Desmond & The Tutu’s, The Shadowclub and various DJs will be part of the line-up. Facilities for this event include food stalls, cash bars and a merchandise stand. General Admission tickets for the event cost R300. There are also Early Bird tickets available for the event for R250. Tickets are available via Ticketbreak.
Good news for all RAMFest fans! There will be 2 International acts making their way to all 3 editions of RAMFest 2011. Alkaline Trio (from the United States) and Funeral for a Friend (from the United Kingdom) will be performing for the first time ever in South Africa. SAPS Brutality @ Catz Pyjamas restaurant in Melville Johannesburg

I was absolutely DISGUSTED when i saw this video of police in Melville at Catz Pyjamas and i am ashamed to say i am South African! Why are these little pigs so power hungry? It such a pitty they couldnt show such enthusiasm to a hijaking or emergency call.Our "Police force" is down right useless! Something has to be done about this and i will go out of my way to make this clip of these in humane power hungry freaks seen around the world! I feel in the near future there will be a civil uprising due to the actions of the incompetant rats that run this country

Byzance - Restaurant/Lounge

Byzance is hidden away inside of the Lonehill shopping centre,with various awards presented to chef/owner Aristotle such as the 5 Star Chef awards for 2004 and 2005 from Wine magazine, and a host of other awards that have recognized his creative talent and marvellous dedication to his craft. 


The soft light and beautiful atmosphere make for an extremely tranquil dining experience, with a view of Lonehill lake from not only the balcony but from inside the restaurant as well. Doors open onto private dining patios which overlook the lake making it perfect for a romantic dinner.
The food has a wonderful mediterranean feel to.
